THE planned launch of the Euroferries service between Ramsgate and Boulogne, set for Saturday, November 14, has been postponed.
The firm has released a statement saying:
Euroferries has regrettably had to delay its high speed cross channel service launch scheduled for the 14th November due to hampered final stage operations.
Euroferries apologises for any inconvenience caused to its customers and assures them that it is their foremost intention to resolve this matter swiftly allowing the service to commence.
All Euroferries bookings affected by this matter have the option of either receiving a full refund or alternatively receiving complimentary first class upgrades for an alternative date of travel.
EVIDENCE of what is believed to be the oldest known marsupial in Europe has been discovered in Charente-Maritime.
Science Daily reports that researchers found a small tooth, near Rochefort-sur-mer, from a tiny mouse-like animal named Arcantiodelphys marchandi, one of the oldest and most primitive marsupial known in the world.
RYANAIR is to withdraw its six routes from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, in eastern France, severing its UK connection to London Stansted.
In a statement Ryanair said that it would operate more flights if the airport were to reduce its charges.
Ryanair said that EuroAirport refused its offer and so decided to drop its links to Stansted, but also Alicante, Cagliari, Marseille, Porto and Stockholm (Skavsta) from December 2, 2009.

THE doors have been swung open on Père Noël's electronic office in La Poste to process all the letters he is set to receive.
The website is very simple to use and allows you to enter postal details and a short message to Père Noël, in return children receive a card in the post.

CROSS-CHANNEL ferry firm Euroferries has issued a press release highlighting the work taking place before the launch of its service between Ramsgate and Boulogne later this month, it reads:
Euroferries is pleased to confirm that the high speed ferry, Bonanza Express since last week has been undergoing final preparations by FOSA (Fred Olsen S.A.) in Tenerife for its transfer to Boulogne.
Arrangements including dredging are in hand at both ports in support of Euroferries new Ramsgate/Boulogne service scheduled to commence on the 14th November.
Eurroferries has also issued two photographs (click thumbnails to enlarge), the first shows final preparations being undertaken on the Bonanza Express and was taken on October 30.
The second image is an interior shot of the terminal at Ramsgate, where work is being carried out to ensure the service will start on time.

DUE to industrial action in Belgium on Thursday, November 5 there will be no Eurostar service between Lille and Brussels Midi station.
There will also be no high-speed onward rail connections on Thalys or ICE, from Brussels to destinations in France, the Netherlands and Germany.
For passengers travelling between the UK and Lille there will be a modified timetable, with Eurostar saying travellers should check-in as normal as they will be accommodated on the next available service.
FOUR new flights are to operate out of Bordeaux, including one to Edinburgh, following an announcement from Ryanair.
Alongside the flight to Scotland, the airport will also have connections to Bologna, Brussels (Charleroi) and Porto, with Ryanair claiming they will send 200,000 passengers a year through Aéroport de Bordeaux-Mérignac.
